Overleaf 6.0.1 is available
November 18, 2025We are pleased to announce Overleaf Server Pro 6.0.1! This major release includes new features, security updates to the base image and installed packages, along with improvements and bugfixes. You can read the full release notes here.
We advise all customers to upgrade to Server Pro 6.0.1 at their earliest convenience.
Important upgrade note: You will need to upgrade MongoDB before upgrading to this major release. Please ensure you have a database backup before upgrading. In case of rollback, you will need to restore the database backup. Refer to the documentation for detailed instructions on the upgrade process.
What’s new?
Server Pro 6.0.1 introduces the following features:
- Link sharing now can be disabled with
OVERLEAF_DISABLE_LINK_SHARING=trueto only allow sharing of projects via individualized email invites. - Title and content of the Maintenance page can be customized via
OVERLEAF_MAINTENANCE_MESSAGEandOVERLEAF_MAINTENANCE_MESSAGE_HTML. - The expiration delay for deleted users and projects can be configured (in milliseconds) via
OVERLEAF_USER_HARD_DELETION_DELAYandOVERLEAF_PROJECT_HARD_DELETION_DELAY.
What’s fixed?
- Fixed links rendering incorrectly in the footer.
- Enhanced error messages for SAML login errors.
- Resolved missing audit log entries for admin state updates on SSO login.
- Fixed History panel errors when TLS is enabled in Redis.
- Stopping compilations is now supported for non-sandboxed compiles.
Other changes
- All the links to the status page (set via
OVERLEAF_STATUS_PAGE_URL) now use HTTPS and open in a new browser tab.
